My name is Ben Formaker-Olivas, and I am an intersectional game developer, artist, and writer. I hold a degree in Cultural Anthropology from UCLA, and derive creative inspiration from global and diverse perspectives. I come from an eclectic background in the entertainment, education, and nonprofit sectors, which allows me to bridge the gap between multiple disciplines and bodies of knowledge.
I am currently a Creative Content Implementer on Fortnite Creative. Previously, I worked as an Animation Pipeline Coordinator on God of War at Santa Monica Studio, supported multiple teams on VALORANT at Riot Games, and worked in the archives at Nickelodeon Animation. As a freelance journalist, I have written for VRScout, one of the world’s largest virtual reality publications, as well as on platforms such as Medium.
I strongly believe that interactive content has the potential to drive social change, and am passionate about creating narratives that spark the imagination and foster empathy. Whether in my writing, game development work, or speaking engagements, I strive to share untold stories and uplift marginalized and underrepresented communities. As a queer Latino, championing diversity, equity, and inclusion is at the core of who I am.
My goal is to develop content that transports, transcends, and transforms.
